The Verity saga started with a single upload on May 30, 2026 and became one of the fastest-moving Minecraft phenomena in years: a scripted horror series, a wave of "is it real?" debunks, and then 8 million+ downloads of mods recreating a mod that never existed. This Verity timeline tracks every confirmed date — series events and ecosystem events side by side.

The story so far, in one paragraph

YouTuber ThatMob published a Minecraft horror short framed as found footage: a friend sends him a mysterious mod over Discord, and inside it is Verity, a yellow smiley orb that claims to know everything. The series was scripted — ThatMob disclosed as much — but it spread so fast that millions went looking for a Verity mod download that didn't exist. Community modders filled the vacuum within two weeks, ThatMob licensed an official Java adaptation, and the story is still being told episode by episode.

Full timeline

• May 30, 2026 — Episode 1: "Something is Knocking at Your Door..."
  The series begins (watch it here). Verity is introduced as a gift mod from an anonymous sender; the description credits the voice actor JustWhispy and discloses the episode as a scripted in-game horror film.
• Early June 2026 — the viral wave, and the hunt for a download.
  Clips spread across YouTube, TikTok, and Reddit. Searches for the Verity mod spike, find nothing, and spawn a round of debunk articles. ThatMob publicly asks viewers to stop requesting the mod, "since there isn't one to share."
• June 14, 2026 — Verity BE launches.
  Undertaletalelover publishes the first playable Verity mod recreation for Minecraft Bedrock on CurseForge and MCPEDL. The download vacuum starts to fill.
• June 15, 2026 — Verity — Bedrock Edition launches.
  PnTMC's take on Verity arrives a day later and becomes the most downloaded version of all, eventually passing 4.7 million downloads.
• June 25, 2026 — Episode 3 teased.
  ThatMob signals the series is continuing, keeping the Verity story — and the search interest — alive between uploads.
• June 30, 2026 — Verity JE launches.
  The officially licensed Java adaptation by VarmiteYT, made with ThatMob's explicit permission, brings real AI-powered chat to the character for the first time.
• July 2026 — 8 million downloads and counting.
  The three Verity adaptations together pass roughly 8 million downloads (as of July 13, 2026), all within a month of the first recreation going live.

A note on sources: every date above comes from platform timestamps — YouTube upload dates and the "created" fields on CurseForge and MCPEDL — checked on July 13, 2026. Where a date can't be pinned that way (like Episode 2's exact upload), we leave it out rather than guess; the Verity story has enough fog in it already.
